The Burj Khalifa fireworks are one of the highlights of the year. Locals line the streets and position themselves as early as 6pm to gain the ultimate position for the display.

 

It's not just about what's happening in the sky though, along the waterfront the Dubai Fountains put on a spectacular show to complement the fireworks.
