CHINESE NEW YEAR
The Chinese New Year is actually known as their Spring Festival and this coming year will take place on the
16th February in 2018 (Year of the Dog).
In preparation for this, windows are scrubbed, floors are swept and furniture is dusted in preparation for the new year. This represents sweeping away the bad luck of the past year. In addition, dusting is avoided on New Year’s Day, for fear good fortune will be swept away.
